Lesson 14 of 17 · How RebateMax works

How the Rebate Actually Works

Over the last twelve days this account mapped the full cost stack retail crypto traders carry: spot fees, leverage-scaled futures fees, funding on held perpetuals, slippage on thin books, withdrawal fees by network, copy-trade profit share, liquidation stacks, and the bid-ask spread. Roughly $4,000 a year for an active trader, before the market does anything.

Most of that stack isn't negotiable. Funding is a structural feature of perpetual contracts. Spread is a function of order book depth. Slippage is liquidity. You can manage them with execution discipline, but you can't remove them.

One line is genuinely negotiable, and it's worth explaining the mechanism openly rather than pitching it.

When you register on any major exchange through a referral link, the exchange pays the referrer a commission. This is standard practice across BingX, Binance, Bybit, and effectively every venue in the industry. Critically, that commission comes out of the trading fee you were already going to pay — it is not an additional charge layered on top of your costs.

Most affiliates keep the full commission. You register, they earn, your fee rate stays exactly the same as it would have been anyway. The alternative structure is to split the commission: you register through the link, the exchange applies a discount to your fee rate, and the affiliate takes a smaller share of a fee that existed regardless.

On BingX base-tier futures, that's a taker rate of 0.050% becoming 0.025%. For a trader doing $200,000 in monthly futures notional, monthly fees drop from roughly $100 to roughly $50. Annual difference: about $600. Same trades, same exchange, same execution — half the taker rate.

Here's the part that matters more than the numbers. RebateMax's only revenue is BingX affiliate commission. There is no subscription, no premium tier, no paid signal channel, no upsell. The discount has no expiry date and no monthly volume minimum. If you never place a trade, we never earn anything. That alignment is the reason nothing is gated behind a paywall — there's nothing to gate.

We're an affiliate, not an exclusive partner, and we aggregate third-party signals rather than generating them. Both of those distinctions matter and we'll cover them properly in the coming days.

Trading involves risk; a lower fee rate improves what you start with, not what the market gives you.
